Täydennyskoulutuskeskus [Continuing Professional Development Centre] provides outreach services in professional competence-building. Operating as an expert resource base, it designs and provides development solutions for clients within Finland and internationally. The cornerstone of its expert provision is achieved through enhancing growth and transformation for individuals and organizations. University of Jyväskylä has been named a University of Excellence in Adult Education by the Ministry of Education for years 2004-2006 and again for years 2007-2009

Originally launched in 1982 as a bridge between university research-driven expertise and the needs of the wider community, it has grown successfully, and devolved a range of independent organizations through synergy-building and critical linkage. It has now specialized as a stream-lined expert base (40 personnel, turnover c. 4 M€) in specific operating fields. These involve provision of a range of products and services on education, organizational development and human resources.

The experts engage in diverse tasks which are highly client-focussed. What unites the character of its operations is identification and implementation of levers of success. Responding to individual or organizational competence-building needs, these involve a blend of knowledge, skills and ability input to facilitate successful performance and outcomes.
